The Best Way to Learn Spanish Quickly
The best way to learn Spanish quickly is to go about it like you’re going to absolutely have to speak it. You learn a little and then immediately you start practicing and practicing until it is firmly in your head. At least, I would have to say that way the best way for someone like me to get the job done as fast as possible.
When I first met my fiancĂ©’s family I realized that if I was ever going to fit into the dynamic I should really get a grasp of the Spanish language. At first I put it off because I was a little intimidated by the thought. Getting ready for the wedding of a lifetime and cramming Spanish lessons in didn’t seem like it would really work out well. So, I procrastinated until we were about three or four months away from getting married.
I thought the course that offered a lot of dialogue direction was very helpful. As soon as I would learn a few words I would make sure I said them constantly. Then I learned a few more and then a few more. It didn’t matter what I was doing, I would find a way to use a Spanish word every few moments so that it would stick.
In order to learn Spanish quickly I eventually started talking to the cat. At first, I was replacing English words for objects and actions with Spanish words. It really wasn’t long before I was reverting only to the English words I didn’t really know in Spanish.
My wedding was beautiful and I was able to do some translating between my family and my new husband’s family. I have to admit, everyone was a little impressed that it only took me a few months to really learn Spanish quickly. It feels good that his grandmother and his great grandmother can talk to me and I can listen and actually understand instead of politely nodding my head. It can be done. Take it from me. Just call me “Speedy Spanish Speaker.”
