Paul asks…

How come when I sing in a different language (tagalog), I can do higher notes than english songs?

If I sing a filipino song, I can sing the high and loud notes without losing my voice but when I sing english songs, I lose my voice when I go higher or louder?

Clive answers:

English has more consonants which strain your voice, because it takes more air to pronounce them. Vowels allow the air to flow more freely making it easier to hold higher notes and louder notes. With the exception of the EE vowel.
