Maria asks…

Can anybody teach me Urdu?

I have friends who are of Pakistani origin. They are Muslim and speak Urdu natively. I would really love to learn Urdu. I already know how to make some conversation, like “Hi, how are you?” and stuff, but I really, really, really want to become fluent, so that I can communicate with their parents when/if I go to their houses, watch Bollywood movies without needing the subtitles, impress my friends, and be fluent in four languages instead of three.
I’ve tried lots of programs, like Linguata, Rocket Languages, Byki Express, and Livemocha, and they’re going pretty well. But I’d like it if a real native speaker can not only review my Urdu work, but also be the ones to teach me theirself.
I’m looking for real native Urdu speakers who have Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail. If you agree to teach me, tell me your email address in your answer, and I’ll add you to my contacts.
Khuda-hafiz!

Salam (Hi)
I belong to a urdu speaking family but sorry it would be very hard for me to take time for teaching as I’m a very busy person. But I appreciate you for efforts you are putting to learn urdu.Learning languages in always fun and yes you can impress your indian /Pakistani friends by speaking urdu. But always remember urdu is one of the most difficult languages so be patient in learning it.It would take some time to become fluent in this language.
Shukriya (Thanks)
Khush raho (stay happy)
